Last week the High Court in Dublin ruled that doctors can perform a life-saving tranfusion on anaemic twins as soon as they are born. The twins are suffering from anaemia as they are both Rhesus D positive and the mother is Rhesus D negative so her antibodies have attacked their red blood cells. The parents refused to consent to the transfusions due to their religious beliefs but have said that they will not interfere with the Court's ruling.
What a hard position to be in as a parent - do you follow your religious beliefs or your instinct as a parent to protect your children at all costs?
In India they have a competition to pick the best twins!! Kids of all ages can enter and there are some seriously cute entries. How would you pick a winner?

Twins are fascinating. Throughout history man has studied twins and tried to understand what physical, emotional and mental bonds twins share. But how far will researchers go in their pursuit of knowledge? Well it seems they will go as far as separating identical twins at birth and adopting them out to different families so that they can undertake a secret psychiatric study into the role of nature versus nurture. Maybe they should research morals and ethics next time!! Click here to be taken to CBC News for the full story.
